Normative Value of Six Minute Step Test in Indian population

Description

Six minute Step Test (6MST) helps to assess aerobic capacity of an individual. The 6MST is a basic test in which the patient climbs and descends in free cadence for six minutes on a stepper while the number of steps taken is tallied. It does not necessitate complicated equipment or big areas. 110 individuals (54=Males, 56=Females) were participated in the study. Demographic details were obtained before the test. Participants was familiarized with the test before the trail. Physiological variables were measured before and after the test. Normative value of 6MST in Indian population was obtained. Normal distribution (p>0.05) was seen in weight, hip circumference, age, and heart rate pre and post. Keywords : Functional Capacity, Step Test, Physical Fitness
