Description

This data presents Solar Radiation, Ambient Temperatures, Chamber Temperatures, Water Temperatures and Absorber Temperatures for a Parabolic Dish Cooker. The specification of the Parabolic Dish Cooker are as follows:  Aperture diameter of the parabolic solar reflector=0.86m  Aperture area of the parabolic solar reflector = 0.58mm2  Focal Length of the solar parabolic reflector = 0.42cm  Rim Angle of the solar parabolic reflector = degree  Surface area of the parabolic reflector = 1.04mm2  Absorber Area for the parabola = 0.05mm2  Concentrating ratio = 12.0 Campbell Scientific LTD Pyranometer of ET106 weather station The experimental investigations were carried out in Landmark University Engineering Workshop, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, North Central Nigeria from June, 2017 to April, 2018.

Steps to reproduce

 Tests were started at around 10:00am and were stopped at around 5:00pm.  The cookers were kept under shading before the start of the tests and brought to receive solar radiation simultaneously.  Tracking of the cookers was done manually every ten minutes  Thermocouples were attached to the center of the bottom absorber plate during the No-load (stagnation) test and were immersed into water during the boiling test.  In the test, 1 litre of water divided equally between two identical pots was used at each start of the Load-test (Sensible test).  Results are recorded every twenty(20) minutes.
