This dataset contains 4-week moving average weekly relative evapotranspiration data, produced using the Atmosphere-Land Exchange Inverse (ALEXI) model, for central Mexico between latitudes 17.3N and 22.7N and longitudes 93.3W and 106.6W. The data cover the periods 2003–2011 and 2014–2023, with a spatial resolution of 0.05 degrees. Files are provided in GeoTIFF format, with filenames indicating the year and day of year (DOY) corresponding to the end of each 4-week composite period. The dataset was used in a regional evaluation of drought indices for detecting crop water stress (manuscript submitted to Journal of Hydrology: Regional Studies). Further details about the dataset can be found in the article.
