ITaLab-BIM-sm
Description
ITaLab-BIM-sm contains 59,957 building elements from 177 Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) models, each labelled with the IFC class declared in its source model (35 classes). Every element is described by four rendered views (front, top, side and isometric), by its relationship neighbourhood in the source model and by metadata that link it to that model. The source models are IFC2X2, IFC2X3 and IFC4 files exported from Autodesk Revit, Graphisoft Archicad, Tekla Structures and other authoring applications. They come from design projects of the ITaLab research group at Kyung Hee University and from public model collections. Each model was split into one IFC file per product, and each product was rendered with IfcOpenShell geometry and pyrender under fixed cameras, lights and material. Of 75,057 rendered elements, records filed under two classes and repeated identical renders were removed. For every remaining element, the aggregation, spatial containment, voiding and filling relationships of its source model were traversed to a depth of three. The release holds 239,828 PNG renders, an entity table with two predefined train, validation and test splits (one stratified by element, one holding out whole source models), the neighbourhood graphs in Parquet format, a source-model table and per-element IFC files for the laboratory-owned models. The data support training and testing of classifiers that assign or check IFC classes, comparison of image, graph and geometry inputs for element recognition, and measurement of how far such classifiers carry over to projects they have not seen.
