Description

In the Central Ebro Basin (NE Spain), we can be found several highly saline endorheic systems, two of which are located in Bajo Aragón area. These are known as the “Complejo Lagunar de la Salada de Chiprana”, in the municipality of Chiprana (Zaragoza), and the “Saladas de Alcañiz-Calanda”, in the municipalities of Alcañiz and Calanda (Teruel). The first is included in the network of RAMSAR Sites of International Importance from 1994 (Site no. 654), and both areas are designated in the Natura 2000 European Network (Codes ES2430041 and ES242011), under the European Directives Birds (2009/147/EC) and Habitats (92/43/EEC). We present a scientific bibliographic overview of the Bajo Aragón land and natural values. The reuse of this dataset would produce new insights in the context of multidisciplinary research offering a guidance for agricultural and environmental policy. The data provided here result from the support of Instituto de Estudios Turolenses (IET) through the call for I+D+I Projects - IET 2025, and by the research project i) PID2021-127170OB-I00 (ISABEL), funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe”, the cooperation CSIC project COOPA23014 and the project AQ-03.2025 funded by the Government of Aragón. The dataset included the document “bibliography_BajoAragon.docx”, which contains Table 1 – with five columns detailing the year of publication, bibliographic citation, main subject, type of document (article, thesis, book, or unpublished report), and geographic region (at wetland or local scale) – as well as the full list of bibliographic references formatted according to APA guidelines.
