Description

This dataset encompasses the latest version of GlobalCropYield5min, along with the used Crop Calendar. GlobalCropYield5min represents a novel global gridded annual yield dataset for major crops—maize, rice, wheat, and soybean—spanning from 1982 to 2015. It features a spatial resolution of 5-minutes and utilizes the unit of measurement "t/ha" (tonnes per hectare). Notably, we have released three preceding versions of this dataset, all consistently employing the unit "kg/ha" (kilograms per hectare). However, to align with the data description presented in the associated article and eliminate any potential ambiguity, we have updated the fourth version on Mendeley Data, explicitly stating the unit as "t/ha". Please download the latest V4 version. For a detailed introduction to the data, kindly refer to the article titled "Mapping Global Yields of Four Major Crops at 5-Minute Resolution from 1982 to 2015 Using Multi-Source Data and Machine Learning.
