Effect-level meta-analytic dataset for violence exposure and cortisol stress response in children and adolescents

Description

This dataset contains the effect-level data underlying the systematic review and meta-analysis “Violence Exposure and Cortisol Stress Response in Children and Adolescents.” It includes 75 effect sizes from 19 independent datasets and contains study and population characteristics, violence exposure characteristics, TSST and cortisol measurement variables, study design, risk-of-bias ratings, and meta-analytic effect-size information. Effect sizes are provided as Fisher’s z-transformed correlations with corresponding sampling variances. The review was preregistered in PROSPERO (CRD42024571795). Variable definitions and coding procedures are reported in the Supplementary Material accompanying the manuscript.
