Hydro-sediment and vegetation-boundary dataset for sandbars downstream of the Three Gorges Reservoir
Description
This dataset supports the manuscript on sandbar vegetation distribution and hydro-sediment driving mechanisms downstream of the Three Gorges Reservoir. It includes processed hydro-sediment indicators, inundation-frequency elevations, NDVI statistics, H0.2 vegetation-boundary series, and model input–output data for eight sandbars from 1991 to 2021. The dataset can be used to reproduce the main analyses of vegetation boundary shifts, zonal NDVI responses, and hydro-sediment controls.

Steps to reproduce
Download and unzip the dataset. Use daily water-level data to calculate annual inundation-frequency elevations for each sandbar. Derive H10, H50, center-line elevation, and width of the 10%–50% vegetation zone. Use monthly NDVI statistics and inundation-frequency elevations to extract H0.2 by linear interpolation. Compile hydro-sediment indicators, including water level, discharge, sediment concentration, inundation duration, exposure duration, sediment intensity, and water-sediment coupling metrics. Fit zonal nonlinear regression models using October NDVI as the response variable. Use the model outputs and boundary indicators to reproduce the figures and tables in the manuscript.
