Implementation of a virtual learning object in inorganic chemistry using the “PhET” interactive laboratory to reinforce proficiency in the application of scientific knowledge
Description
The implementation of the RVA is expected to have a positive effect on the understanding of scientific knowledge, The implementation of the RVA is expected to have a positive effect on the understanding of scientific knowledge, thereby increasing student satisfaction and leading to continuous improvement in the mastery of concepts. Thus, the central objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of the OVA on the development of this competency, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses to understand not only changes in academic performance but also in attitudinal and procedural aspects.thereby increasing student satisfaction and leading to continuous improvement in the mastery of concepts. The data were collected using the research instrument and subsequently processed for statistical analysis. Initially, the reliability of the instrument was assessed by calculating Cronbach’s alpha coefficient to determine the internal consistency of the scales used. Subsequently, a descriptive statistical analysis was performed, including frequencies, percentages, measures of central tendency, and measures of dispersion to characterize the study variables. For inferential analysis, Student’s t-test was applied to identify statistically significant differences between groups. Additionally, effect size was calculated using Cohen’s d, allowing for an assessment of the practical magnitude of the differences found. Additionally, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used for the analysis of paired samples or when the assumptions of normality required by parametric tests were not met. Data processing was performed using specialized statistical software under standardized procedures to ensure the reproducibility and reliability of the results.
