Description

This dataset contains acoustic, trawls, diet and biologging data collected during the Mycto3D oceanographic cruise and multi-year penguin tracking efforts (2008–2023) off Kerguelen Islands. The study investigated how water thermal conditions (specifically the depth of the 3°C isotherm) influence the vertical distribution of mesopelagic prey (predominantly Krefftichthys anderssoni) and the resulting dive behaviour, hunting effort, and foraging success of breeding adult king penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus).
