Description

The paper argues in favor of private education and educational freedom of choice to enhance the quality, diversity, and adaptability of educational systems. The author compares their experience in Soviet state education, characterized by rigidity and a lack of creativity, with the opportunities offered by a system based on freedom of choice and competition. It is argued that state educational systems tend to become instruments of indoctrination, limiting the diversity of thought and individual development. In contrast, private education, supported by liberal principles such as those of Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman, fosters an environment where competition and innovation thrive, benefiting both students and society at large. Additionally, the essay presents international examples, such as the educational voucher systems in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Chile, demonstrating how competition among private schools can significantly improve academic outcomes and parental satisfaction while promoting greater responsibility and involvement in the educational process.
