Survey dataset of consumer’s willingness to pay for renewable energy

The dataset described herein were collected in 2020 to estimate willingness to pay (WTP) for renewable energy development in the East Coast states of Peninsular Malaysia which includes three capital states namely Kota Bharu (Kelantan), Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu) and Kuantan (Pahang). The data complements to the article entitled “Willingness to Pay for Renewable Energy: Evidence from High Wind and Wave Energy Potential Areas” [1].The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews by well-trained interviewers. These data will be useful in not only replicating results for academic or research purposes but also employing the data for further studies of WTP for renewable energy in other developing countries.
