CaribbeanSeismology
Description
This data is part of the work developed for the bachelor thesis and internship of first author. The project investigates subduction nature of the Caribbean Tectonic Plate in Northwestern South America, especially along the Colombian coastline. It is composed of a GIS Geodatabase and of both raw and processed earthquake information, Focal Mechanism Solutions (FMS), 1D velocity models and potential field (gravity and magnetic) derivatives.

Steps to reproduce
1) Convergence of a single 1D velocity model using VELEST program: Start with the three "a priori" models and stabilize RMS, dvp and dvs, then average the resulting models. 2) Moment tensor inversion: Fit amplitude spectra and displacement of waveforms using RapidInv program for events with certain quality criteria of your choice. 3) Use FMS to estimate tectonic stress tensor using WinTensor program. Optimize rotational function.
