Description
The Advanced Voice Function Assessment Database (AVFAD) is a medical speech database focused on voice function assessment, primarily used for comparative studies between pathological voices and healthy speech. The linguistic background of the database is Brazilian Portuguese, reflecting the local language's pronunciation characteristics and intonation patterns. In terms of the composition of patients and healthy subjects, AVFAD includes recordings from 709 participants. Among them, 346 are from the pathological voice group, and 363 are from the healthy speech group. The pathological group primarily consists of individuals with functional or organic voice disorders, such as vocal cord nodules, polyps, paralysis, and voice abnormalities following laryngeal cancer surgery. The gender distribution within the pathological group shows that 72% are female and 28% are male. The age of the patients ranges from 19 to 93 years, covering a wide spectrum of age groups.
