Description
WheatDual-4V is a dual-view Vis-NIR hyperspectral dataset (400–1000 nm, 300 spectral bands) comprising 1,600 individual kernels across four visually confusable winter wheat cultivars (Yangmai 6, Fanmai 8, Xingmai 13, and Jinan 17). Each seed features co-registered dorsal (smooth) and ventral (creased) hyperspectral data cubes, providing a benchmark for multi-view spectral-spatial feature fusion and non-destructive seed purity certification.

Steps to reproduce
Step 1: Sample Preparation Select mature, intact winter wheat kernels from four commercial cultivars (Yangmai 6, Fanmai 8, Xingmai 13, and Jinan 17), with 400 kernels per cultivar (total 1,600 kernels). Place the kernels into customized sample trays made of black non-toxic foam materials to maintain stable orientation and eliminate background optical reflection. Step 2: Instrument Setup and Warm-up Turn on the line-scan (push-broom) hyperspectral imaging system (Model: HY-6010-S) and warm up the two symmetrical 150W quartz halogen illumination lamps for at least 15 minutes to ensure stable and uniform light intensity across the 400–1000 nm wavelength range (300 spectral bands, ~2.5 nm resolution). Set the camera exposure time and linear translation stage speed via the Spectral Image acquisition software. Step 3: Dual-View Image Acquisition First scan (Ventral/L-side view): Place each kernel with its creased ventral groove facing upward and record the first hyperspectral data cube. Second scan (Dorsal/S-side view): Using non-destructive tweezers, carefully flip each kernel 180 degrees within its exact groove position so that the smooth dorsal surface faces upward, and record the second hyperspectral data cube to generate an accurately paired dual-view sample. Step 4: Radiometric Calibration and ROI Extraction Perform black-and-white radiometric calibration on all raw hyperspectral images to remove camera dark current noise and uneven illumination using the standard calibration equation.
