Description

This dataset contains curated derived data, supplementary analytical results, selected analysis code, and repository documentation supporting the study “Supporting data and code for "From static to dynamically adjusted ecosystem service valuation: Ecological–economic dynamics and spatial robustness across prefecture-level administrative units associated with the Yellow River Basin" ”. The study examines 41 prefecture-level administrative units associated with the Yellow River Basin at five study nodes (2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2019). The deposited materials include aggregate results for three ecosystem service value (ESV) settings—Static ESV, NPP-adjusted ESV, and NPP–precipitation-adjusted ESV—together with land-cover transition summaries, Tapio ecological–economic classification summaries and sensitivity results, industrial-structure summaries, Global Moran’s I results under alternative spatial-weight specifications, Benjamini–Hochberg sensitivity results, significant Local Moran associations, and economic-data missingness summaries. The package also includes a data dictionary, public-file manifest, file-level SHA-256 checksums, documentation of third-party data exclusions, methodological parameter summaries, and selected code for Tapio classification, spatial-robustness assessment, and Benjamini–Hochberg adjustment. Third-party source datasets are not redistributed. These include land-cover data, MODIS NPP, precipitation data, statistical yearbook source materials, HydroBASINS/HydroSHEDS data, Tianditu administrative-boundary data, and the published ecosystem-service equivalent-factor source data. Original providers and citations are documented in the manuscript and repository documentation. The repository is intended to support verification and reuse of the reported derived summaries and selected downstream analyses. It does not contain the complete unit-level analytical panels or all third-party source data and is not intended as a complete end-to-end reconstruction of the full workflow from the original raw inputs.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download and extract the deposited ZIP archive. 2. Read README.md for the overall package structure and scope. Consult DATA_DICTIONARY.md for file- and field-level definitions, PROVENANCE_MANIFEST.csv for the original project provenance of deposited files, and REPRODUCIBILITY_NOTES.md for known reproducibility boundaries. 3. The derived analytical datasets are organized by analytical domain under the data directory, including ecosystem service valuation (ESV), real GDP, Tapio decoupling, industrial restructuring, Global Moran analysis, and Local Moran analysis. 4. Use the deposited ESV outputs for the three manuscript valuation settings: Static ESV, NPP-adjusted ESV, and NPP–precipitation ESV. Legacy machine identifiers retained in some files are mapped to the manuscript terminology in README.md and DATA_DICTIONARY.md. 5. For spatial analyses, use the corrected analytical outputs and scripts deposited with the package. The final Global Moran workflow uses the corrected union-symmetrized k-nearest-neighbour construction documented in the repository. Local paths in deposited scripts may need to be adjusted to the user’s computing environment before execution. 6. Third-party raw datasets are not redistributed. Users wishing to reconstruct upstream inputs should obtain the original land-cover, MODIS NPP, precipitation, statistical, hydrographic, and administrative-boundary data from the providers cited in the manuscript and THIRD_PARTY_DATA_EXCLUSIONS.md. 7. The original formal ESV-generation script is not present in the final project records. Accordingly, the repository supports verification of the frozen derived ESV outputs and reproduction of supported downstream analytical workflows, but it does not provide a complete end-to-end reconstruction of the formal ESV calculation from raw third-party inputs. 8. File integrity can be verified using FILE_SHA256.csv. The SHA-256 values in that manifest should match the corresponding deposited files before analytical reuse.
