Description

The initial dataset includes all A-share firms listed in China between 2000 and 2021. The sample construction involves the following steps: (1) excluding observations in abnormal trading states of ST and ST*; (2) removing financial companies due to significant differences in financial conditions and carbon emission characteristics compared to other industries; (3) eliminating observations with missing values for key variables to ensure data integrity and reliability. To construct the dataset, we collect data from multiple sources, such as the China Stock Market & Accounting Research Database (CSMAR), statistical yearbooks, and official government documents. To mitigate the impact of outliers, we winsorize all continuous variables at the 5th and 95th percentiles. The final dataset includes 25694 firm-year observations from 1836 companies.
