Description

This dataset contains the data used in the study “Effect of Embryonic Development Speed and Temperature-Humidity Index on the Pregnancy Rate of Dairy Cattle Embryos Produced in vitro,” published in the Indian Journal of Animal Research (DOI: 10.18805/IJAR.BF-2162). The dataset includes information on embryo transfer, pregnancy diagnosis, recipient category, embryonic development day, and environmental conditions at the time of transfer. The study evaluated the relationship between embryonic development rate, represented by embryos transferred at 7 or 8 days of development, the temperature-humidity index (THI), and pregnancy outcome in Holstein cattle. The variables included in the dataset are: **fecha (Transfer date):** Date on which the embryo transfer was performed. **dia (Embryonic development day):** Age of the embryo at the time of transfer, expressed as 7 or 8 days of embryonic development. **DG (Pregnancy diagnosis):** Pregnancy outcome determined after embryo transfer. **Cat (Recipient category):** Category of the recipient female, classified as cow or heifer. **ITH (Temperature-Humidity Index, THI):** Temperature-humidity index corresponding to the environmental conditions on the day of embryo transfer. **temperatura maxima (Maximum temperature):** Maximum air temperature recorded on the day of embryo transfer, expressed in degrees Celsius (°C). **humedad relativa maxima (Maximum relative humidity):** Maximum relative humidity recorded during the day of embryo transfer, expressed as a percentage (%). The dataset allows the assessment of associations among embryonic development day, thermal environmental conditions, recipient characteristics, and pregnancy outcome. It can also support reproducibility, secondary statistical analyses, and further research on embryo transfer efficiency and the effects of heat stress on reproductive performance in dairy cattle. When using this dataset, users should cite both the dataset and the associated research article.
