Electrochemical Cell Specification and Pre-Test Readiness Checklist
Description
This dataset contains an editable 58-item checklist for translating an experimental plan into an electrochemical cell specification and pre-test readiness review. It is intended for researchers, laboratory engineers, instrument owners, and technical purchasing teams working with cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, corrosion tests, electrosynthesis, gas-evolution studies, battery materials, photoelectrochemistry, or related methods. The checklist records measurement conditions, electrode materials and geometry, reference-electrode placement, electrolyte and vapor exposure, wetted materials, seals, ports, headspace, flow, mixing, temperature, gas control, optical access, required drawings, and acceptance checks. It also asks users to record the source of compatibility decisions and the revision of each design input. The dataset includes a CSV template with prompts, example responses, and verification notes. The accompanying README explains scope, workflow, pre-test review, and limitations. Users can attach the completed checklist to a purchasing request, design review, CAD package, or laboratory risk assessment. The examples are not universal design limits. Users must adapt the checklist to the instrument, chemistry, operating conditions, and institutional controls. This resource does not replace an instrument manual, validated procedure, chemical compatibility review, pressure or electrical safety review, or laboratory risk assessment.

Steps to reproduce
1. Make a working copy of the CSV template. Record the project identifier, responsible researcher, date, and specification revision. 2. Define the measurement. Enter the electrochemical method, instrument, potential range versus a named reference, current range, frequency range, and expected duration. 3. Document each electrode. Record material, dimensions, active area, mounting, electrical connection, position, and any separate compartment, frit, or membrane. 4. Map the chemical exposure. List the electrolyte, solvent, concentration, pH, additives, products, cleaning agents, and every material exposed to liquid or vapor. Cite the compatibility source or planned laboratory check. 5. Specify the cell mechanics and operating environment. Include volume, fill level, headspace, ports, tubing, seals, sample tolerances, flow, mixing, gas control, temperature, pressure, and optical access. 6. Attach the documents needed for review. Use matching revision identifiers on dimensioned drawings, CAD files, photographs, and the material list. 7. Define acceptance checks before design approval. Set the visual, leak, electrical, geometry, assembly, and baseline checks required before reportable measurements. 8. Review the completed package with the researcher, instrument owner, and laboratory safety contact. Resolve open items before purchase, fabrication, or first use. 9. Before the first reportable run, complete the pre-test readiness review in the README. Record any change to seals, electrode position, fill volume, or connection layout.
