Data Set Perfect Trip
Description
Data used for the measurement of Perfect Trip performance. The dataset covers the period from January 2024 to December 2024 and refers to a Brazilian road freight transportation (RFT) company: File 1: Data related to six individual Perfect Trip indicators: Trips Meeting Customers' Requirements, Trips Under Adequate Conditions, Trips Complying with Legislation, Right Trip, Profitable Trips, and Trips Without Cash Flow Impact. File 2: Data related to the individual Perfect Order indicators: On-Time Delivery, Error-Free Delivery, and Complete Delivery. File 3: Data related to individual indicators of operational problems and their causes, including the frequency of occurrence (Problems and Causes Frequency).

Data was collected from the company's ERP system covering 2,637 full-load freight trips (carga lotação) performed between January and December 2024. For each trip, the system recorded daily operational information including delivery status, vehicle and driver conditions, legislative compliance, customer satisfaction scores (0–10 scale), financial outcomes, and occurrence logs. Data was exported daily and organized into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, with daily records aggregated into monthly performance indicators using SUMPRODUCT formulas. Nine KPIs were calculated from the structured data, ranging from customer satisfaction (89.98%) to vehicle and driver conditions (97.99%). Problem frequency analysis was performed through cross-tabulation in Excel, and root-cause analysis for delays combined ERP quantitative records with qualitative information from structured interviews with operational managers and drivers. All raw daily data is preserved in the spreadsheets, enabling full traceability and independent verification of the monthly results presented in the study. The calculation procedure and conceptual framework underlying the performance indicators adopted in this dataset are fully described in the article "Perfect Trip: New Metric for Performance in Road Freight Transportation" published By RAC - Journal of Contemporary Administration (ISSN 1982-7849). That work defines the Perfect Trip composite metric, establishes the criteria and thresholds applied to each individual KPI — including on-time delivery, complete delivery, error-free delivery, legislative compliance, vehicle and driver conditions, customer satisfaction, and trip profitability — and details the aggregation method used to derive a single integrated performance score at the trip level. Researchers seeking to replicate the indicator calculations, apply the same measurement framework to other datasets, or extend the methodology to different transportation contexts are directed to that article for the full theoretical and procedural specification.
