The review adopted the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines to ensure a systematic and transparent identification, screening, and selection of relevant studies (Page, et al., 2021). The search query ("nostalgia" OR "nostalgic" OR "sentiment" OR "remembrance" OR "place attachment" OR "place identity" OR "sense of place" OR "collective memory") AND ("heritage" OR "cultural heritage" OR "historic site" OR "heritage site" OR "historical place*") AND ("subjective well-being" OR "well-being" OR happiness OR "life satisfaction" OR "quality of life")** was executed in the Scopus database. Subject area filters within Scopus were subsequently applied to refine the search. The scope of the review was further defined by restricting the search to relevant source and document types to improve the quality and relevance of the retrieved records. The retrieved records underwent several screening stages to ensure the inclusion of relevant publications. This structured screening procedure ensured transparency, consistency, and data quality throughout the review process. The resulting dataset provides a robust foundation for conducting bibliometric analyses of research on nostalgia, heritage environments, and subjective well-being, enabling the identification of publication patterns, influential contributors, and emerging research themes.
