Description

This dataset contains experimental measurements of descent time for objects of different masses. These measurements provide fundamental kinetic parameters for investigating the biomechanical regulation of wind dispersal in Liriodendron × sino-americanum samaras. This study innovatively integrates trait interactions such as samara size, symmetry, and wing loading to resolve a key trade-off between dispersal distance and seedling establishment. The data offer empirical and quantitative support for understanding the evolutionary optimization of samara dispersal in variable environments.
