Data for medicinal plants: Allamanda cathartica Linn, Celosia argentea var. plumosa, Tridax procumbens Linn, Jacaranda cuspidifolia Mart, Dipteryx alata Vog and Heymenaea stigonocarpa
In this dataset there are reports of 19 elements (Al, As, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, S, Se, V and Zn), quantified in leaf samples of the medicinal plant Allamandacathartica Linn, Celosia argentea var. plumosa, Tridaxprocumbens Linn, JacarandacuspidifoliaMart plants, and sap from DipteryxalataVog and Hymenaeastigonocarpa. All plants are used in Brazil to treat diseases. In this study, data of the elemental composition of six medicinal plants was evaluated by using axial view inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) after digestion procedures. The samples of plants were placed into two groups: leaves of medicines plants and sap of medicinal plants. Therefore, the data sets below show the same data organized in two different ways: - Leaves of medicinal plants: 1) Elements Al, As, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, S, Se, V and Zn quantified in fresh leaves of Allamandacathartica Linn, Celosiaargentea var. plumosa, Tridaxprocumbens Linn, JacarandacuspidifoliaMart. (units: mg/100 g); All element contents were determined based on the mass of the dehydrated samples; The content in the leaves of medicinal plants were determined using ICP OES (iCAP 6300 Duo, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Bremen, Germany). The entire procedure was performed in triplicate; - Sap of medicinal plants: 1) Elements Al, As, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, S, Se V and Zn quantified in plant saps DipteryxalataVog and Hymenaeastigonocarpa (units: mg/100 g); Here, the data on content of samples of sap of the DipteryxalataVog and Hymenaeastigonocarpa are presented in triplicates which were obtained from the analysis made by ICP OES. All the contents of the elements were determined based on the mass of the liquid; Information supplementary Data on Limit of detection (LOD): The LOD is the lowest amount of an analyte in a sample that can be detected by ICP OES. Thus, the concentrationsbelow LOD arenotdetectable. On the other hand, ND = not determined, represents concentrations higher than the values established in the calibration curves. The row in the tables describes a chemical elements quantified in leaves of and sap of medicinal plants. Thus, the raw data can be compared with other data published in the literature on medicinal plants.
