Description

The file A1 Additions to the Methods.doc provides a detailed description of the procedures for processing primary data on the distribution of cyclopean individuals in the tray of a thermogradient apparatus. A step-by-step description of the data transformations obtained in each series of observations is given. The operations of converting linear data into temperature data and the subsequent calculation of ranges of preference and avoided temperatures are described. File Fig. A1 Appendics Termogradient apparatus.jpg contains a photo of a thermogradient apparatus. Files Fig. A2.jpg and Fig. A3.jpg contain photographs that show the labels that indicate the location of each individual cyclops in the apparatus tray. File Table A1.xls is the application to file A1. It contains tables in the Exsel package with the data of the first day of observations as an example of data processing.
