Steps to reproduce

In this study, a randomized complete design was used with 24 male sheep aged 6–8 months. The sheep were randomly assigned to four groups. The first group, the control group (P0), received 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na) solution, the second group (P1) 5% Meniran extract, the third group (P2) 10% Meniran extract, and the fourth group (P3) 20% Meniran extract. Each sheep was orally administered 1 mL of Meniran extract daily for eight weeks. Blood samples (3 mL) were collected from each sheep at both the beginning and end of the study to evaluate hematological parameters and clinical chemistry. The blood samples were collected by jugular venipuncture and analyzed for total leukocyte, erythrocyte, and platelet count, lymphocyte percentage, as well as hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit (HCT) levels, using an automated hematology analyzer (Pentra C200 Clinical Chemistry Analyzer). Clinical chemistry analyses were performed on hepatic (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase [SGPT] and Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transminase [SGOT] and (Blood Urea Nitrogen [BUN] and creatinine) function makers using biochemical kits (Pentra C.200). Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance, followed by a Duncan’s post-hoc test for comparisons among groups. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
