100 µl drops of different salt solutions with a concentration of 0.171 mol/l were left on low-alloy steel for 24 h at 95 % RH and 25 °C. The samples were then rapidly dried in an N2 stream and analyzed with XRD. Various iron oxides can be identified. The salts used can be found in the file names. The salts “Model dust” are salt mixtures whose composition can be found in the linked paper.
