Description

Abstract Background: Menstrual health impacts women’s daily life and well-being. While physiotherapy interventions like heat therapy, TENS, and specific exercises help manage dysmenorrhea, their awareness and use among young Indian women remain underexplored. Objective: To assess knowledge, attitudes, practices, and use of physiotherapy-based approaches for menstrual pain among female physiotherapy students. Methods: An online survey was conducted with 113 female participants. The questionnaire collected demographic and educational data, and it was designed to analyse Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) which included general knowledge questions aligned with UNICEF guidelines, a modified version of the Menstrual Attitude Questionnaire (MAQ), and the Menstrual Practices Questionnaire (MPQ) was used. These tools were employed to assess awareness and practice outcomes among females.
