The supplementary material comprises the following: 1. A comprehensive description of the analytical and experimental methods employed (Repczyńska_etal_2025_Methods.docx). 2. Compositional data obtained through EMPA and LA-ICP-MS analyses of biotite and muscovite grains used as starting materials, as well as of their experimental products. In addition, ICP-MS and ICP-OES data for the solutions are provided, together with a table summarizing element ratios (1-s2.0-S0009254124005667-mmc1.xlsx). 3. The experimental run table detailing all conducted experiments (1-s2.0-S0009254124005667-mmc2.xlsx). 4. Isocon diagrams illustrating the mobility of the elements in the experimental results (1-s2.0-S0009254124005667-mmc3.docx).
