Description

The files for 1-D anisotropic inversion of NVO08, a long-period MT data in Western Nevada acquired by EarthScope program. The algorithm of MT 1-D anisotropic inversion was proposed by Pek and Santos (2002) and it has been successfully used in the electrical anisotropic studies of some regions. In the 1-D anisotropic model, the impedance tensors obey that the diagonal components are opposite signs of the same magnitude, which is difficult for real data to achieve, and thus the diagonal components of real data is hard to fit using 1-D anisotropic inversion. To solve the problem, we applied a distortion decomposition approach proposed by Jones (2012) to NVO08 to recover the regional 1-D anisotropic response. The recovered impedance tensor, whose diagonal components are opposite signs of the same magnitude, is now suitable for 1-D anisotropic modelling and inversion.
