Description

Data on changes of water-soluble soil nutrient ions (Ca2+, Cl–, K+, Mg2+, Na+, NH4+, NO3–, NO2–, SO42–, PO43–, F–) in forest soils litter horizons at different stages of reforestation are presented. The following stages of natural reforestation have been identified within the Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park Biosphere Reserve: agrocenosis, meadow, forests with the age of the tree stand <30, 35-60, 70-80, 80-110, 90-130, 110-135 years.

Steps to reproduce

Water-soluble soil nutrient ions were analyzed chromatographically in a 1:5 aqueous extract using a Stayer chromatograph (Aquilon, Russia). The quantification of bicarbonate basicity (HCO3–) was conducted through the use of titration with sulfuric acid (H2SO4), with the aid of phenolphthalein and methyl orange as indicators.
