Description

This dataset provides a simulated example for item analysis of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It includes the responses of 20 students to 10 single-best-answer MCQs, with each item having four options (A, B, C, or D) and a single correct answer scored as 1. The answer key is provided, and student responses are scored accordingly. Students are then arranged in descending order of their total scores. The dataset is further used to calculate key psychometric properties of the items, including difficulty index, discrimination index, distractor efficiency, point-biserial correlation, and the overall reliability of the test using KR-20. This example dataset is particularly useful for demonstrating the practical application of item analysis techniques in educational assessment workshops, faculty development programs, and health professions education training sessions.
