Description

Supplemental Figure 1. Factors associated with commercial reimbursement for a typical dermatologic service. Associations were estimated using a linear mixed-effects model of the full dataset, with CPT code included as a random intercept to account for baseline reimbursement differences among individual services. Percent differences represent adjusted reimbursement relative to the model grand mean. The model included insurer, practice setting, metropolitan status, dermatologist density, county population, and median household income. In red, we highlight practice setting which demonstrated the largest differences in reimbursement after controlling for other factors. The analysis included negotiated reimbursement rates for 15 commonly billed dermatology CPT codes: 17311, 11900, 17261, 99203, 17110, 17313, 14060, 13132, 99213, 12032, 11102, 11402, 17000, 11602, and 11104.
