Dataset: Impact of viscoelastic polymer solution droplets on a granular bed
Description
This dataset supports the article “Impact of viscoelastic polymer solution droplets on a granular bed.” It includes the source data and analysis scripts used to reproduce the manuscript figures, including fluid properties, rheology data, particle-size measurements, crater and spreading measurements, transition-energy fits, selected crater images, and topography files. The experiments involved Newtonian water/glycerol mixtures and viscoelastic PEO solution droplets released from controlled heights onto dry glass-bead beds. Side-view high-speed imaging quantified drop diameter, impact velocity, spreading, recoil, and imbibition dynamics, while top-view images and 3D profilometry were used to characterize final crater morphology. Rheological measurements provided viscosity and relaxation time, and ImageJ was used for particle-size analysis. MATLAB scripts in the code folder use the source files in the data folder to reproduce the figures and fitting analyses.

Steps to reproduce
Please see the README.md file for instructions on reproducing the figures. The main dataset is provided in all_impact_run.csv, which contains all drop-impact run data. To reproduce the figures in the corresponding paper, run the MATLAB scripts in the code folder. The scripts load the required .xlsx source files from the data folder.
