Photoinduced light scattering (PILS) dynamics in stoichiometric LiNbO3 single crystals excited by a laser radiation Р=110 mW, λо=532.0 nm

Description

Stoichiometric lithium niobate (LiNbO3, LN) single crystal was grown by Czochralski from a Li-rich melt. Crystalline samples were cut as cuboids 7 • 6 • 5 mm3 with edges coinciding with the crystallographic axes X, Y, Z. The samples were irradiated by a laser MLL- 100 on the Y: Al garnet (λ о = 530 nm, P=110mW) perpendicular to the Z axis. Digital camera took a picture of the nonlinear optical process occurring at this every 30 s from the 1 to the 600 s of irradiation. The resulting photoinduced light scattering (PILS) patterns and a round scattering are demonstrated here.

Steps to reproduce

In order to obtain such results a researcher should grow SLN crystal boules, cut samples 7 • 6 • 5 mm3 with edges coinciding with the crystallographic axes, irradiate them with a laser MLL- 100 on the Y: Al garnet (λ о = 530 nm, P=110mW) perpendicular to the Z axis and take digital pictures at every 30 s of irradiation.
