Description

These data provide the relationship between the slenderness ratio of melt cast PLA samples and the mechanical properties, such as the modulus of elasticity, ductility, strength, etc. It is also useful for relating the sample size of PLA fabricated via fused deposition modelling and injection moulding to its mechanical properties.

Steps to reproduce

Ensure polylactic acid (PLA) is predried in an oven to make it moisture-free. Heat the pellet until it melts completely. Pour the molten PLA into a mould and allow it to solidify. Subject the solid to a compression test.
