This dataset contains the research data underlying the study “A multidimensional framework for characterizing rum terroir: development and application in the French West Indies.” It includes anonymized producer survey data from Guadeloupe and Martinique, together with raw physicochemical and GC-FID measurements for 53 rum samples (29 white and 24 aged). Physicochemical measurements and GC-FID analyses were performed in triplicate. The GC-FID dataset includes 22 volatile compounds. The producer survey initially included French Guiana, but French Guiana was excluded from the final study perimeter. The dataset contains only anonymized and research-relevant data; non-anonymized source files are not included.

Steps to reproduce
The producer survey data were anonymized and structured at the production-unit level. Missing or non-reported information was retained according to the study coding framework. Physicochemical measurements were performed in triplicate for each rum sample, and raw replicate measurements are provided. GC-FID analyses were performed in triplicate for 22 volatile compounds. For statistical analysis, replicate measurements were averaged for each sample, and descriptive statistics and multivariate analyses were performed by rum category and geographical origin.
