Data for: Microsatellite-Based Assessment of Genetic Diversity and Population Structure in Wild and Farmed Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata) from Türkiye
Description
This dataset contains the raw genotype data and analysis outputs underlying the study "Microsatellite-Based Assessment of Genetic Diversity and Population Structure in Wild and Farmed Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata) from Türkiye." A total of 278 gilthead seabream were analysed: four wild populations from the Turkish Mediterranean and Aegean coasts (Yumurtalık [WYMR], Köyceğiz [WKYC], Doğanbey/Karina [WDGN], and Enez [WENZ]), two farmed stocks sourced from different commercial hatcheries (İzmir [FARMA]; Akbük [FARMB]), and one wild reference population from Messolonghi Lagoon, Greece (WMES). Wild Turkish samples were obtained from gillnet catches between September and November 2016; the Greek sample was provided as pre-extracted DNA by HCMR (Heraklion, Greece). Individuals were genotyped at 12 microsatellite loci (a subset of the panel of Polovina et al., 2020); one locus (C67b) was excluded for a high frequency of null alleles, leaving 11 loci for analysis. The dataset includes: Full FSTAT output: allele frequencies, number of alleles, gene diversity, allelic richness (rarefied to 27 diploid individuals), observed and expected heterozygosity, F-statistics (FIS, FIT, FST), Weir & Cockerham estimates with 95%/99% confidence intervals, and Hardy–Weinberg randomisation tests (sheet "Fstat"). Analysis of Molecular Variance results, non-hierarchical and hierarchical by origin (sheet "AMOVA"). Principal Coordinates Analysis coordinates (sheet "PCoA"). STRUCTURE Harvester / Evanno-method output used to determine the optimal number of clusters, K = 2 (sheet "Delta K"). BOTTLENECK v1.2.02 outputs (heterozygosity-excess tests under the SMM and TPM, and the mode-shift test) used to test for recent reductions in effective population size. These data support all diversity, differentiation, sibship/effective-breeder (COLONY), and demographic analyses reported in the article and allow full reproduction of the tables and figures.
