Description

The dataset contains atmospheric electric field (AEF) and VLF atmospherics (sferics) measurements recorded at Bagula (BGL, 23.3349N 88.6483E) and Purulia (PRL, 23.3322N 86.3616E), India, during the 10–11 May 2024 super geomagnetic storm. AEF was measured using Boltek EFM-100 electric field mills, with the instrument output representing the atmospheric potential gradient (PG = -E_z). VLF sferics observations were used to characterize the storm-time response of the AC component of the global electric circuit, while AEF measurements represent its DC component. The two stations are separated by approximately 235 km, enabling examination of the spatial variability of the storm-induced perturbations. A formal analysis and detailed discussion of these datasets and their storm-time responses are presented in Faruque et al. (2026), Impact of the Super Geomagnetic Storm of 10–11 May 2024 on the DC and AC Global Electric Circuit over Low- and Mid-Latitude Regions, Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jastp.2026.106986).
