Description

To understand morphological changes of the pectoral fin of mudskippers during water to land transition, parameters related to locomotion (radials, fin rays) were examined. Three mudskippers (from low to high terrestrial degrees) and an out-group species were selected. Stain and dissection were employed to gather data of the pectoral fins. Data include radial length and area, fin ray length and width, muscle mass ratio of the inner and outer sides.
