Description

This dataset contains raw and calculated data collected in pilot-scale trials which were designed to mimic practice-relevant storage of cattle slurry without and with calcium cyanamide (CaCN2) investigated as a liquid manure additive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Four storage scenarios were examined involving defined headspace air exchange, covering warm and winter storage as well as batch and quasi-continuous filling. The dataset includes cattle slurry chemical characteristics, data on storage filling and additive dosing, temperature profiles, methane, carbon dioxide, ammonia, nitrogen oxide, hydrogen sulfide and greenhouse gas emissions for the four storage scenarios. The dataset provides variable definitions and calculation procedures.
