Nutrients in soil and needles in slash pine seed orchard

Description

Slash pine (Pinus elliottii) has been introduced to China over centuries and is widely used in southern afforestation, yet seed orchard management still remains extensive with no precise fertilization standards. The diagnosis and recommendation integrated system (DRIS) is widely applied as an effective approach for leaf diagnosis in agricultural systems. To establish DRIS norms for foliar nutrient diagnosis in a 2.0 generation clonal seed orchard of slash pine in Southeast China, the soil nutrients and needle nutrients were analysed in the trees with high yield group (HYG) and low yield group (LYG) during growing season. This dataset presents the macro- and micro elements in soil and needles, as well as the cone number and weight in each tested tree.
