Data for: Vaccination and monitoring strategies for epidemic prevention and detection in the Channel Island fox (Urocyon littoralis)
Description
An individual-based, spatially explicit, stochastic, discrete time model of rabies and canine distemper transmission through a naïve population of San Clemente Island foxes. Model treatments include pathogen introduction into areas of the island with high or low fox densities, vaccinations distributed randomly or in a "firewall" across the island, and various levels of vaccination (0%, 10%, 30%, 50% of the fox population; must be adjusted by user). Additional code is provided to sample unvaccinated, radio collared "sentinel" animals to simulate population monitoring. Code written in Program R.
