Description

The dataset is based on an online public opinion survey on schooling, education, and school violence in Serbia, conducted between November 28, 2024, and August 25, 2025, as part of the research program 'Values as determinants of school safety and security.' The questionnaire was administered online, via the LimeSurvey platform installed on the Institute of Social Sciences (IDN) server. Respondents were recruited through the IDN email panel (Source=1) and internet promotion, including paid social media advertising and snowball sharing (Source=2). A total of 3,744 respondents opened the survey, and 1,870 completed it in full. The deposited dataset contains 3,744 rows and 265 variables, including administrative variables (e.g., questionnaire last page, timestamps, subsample source). The dataset is fully anonymized. The survey targeted the general adult population of Serbia, with tailored modules for respondents who are currently or formerly employed in educational institutions (including teachers, school psychologists, and pedagogists), parents and grandparents of school-age children, and respondents without direct school ties. The dataset includes variables from the following main categories: sociodemographic and educational background; professional context and school characteristics for school employees; attitudes toward the teaching profession, teacher autonomy, and working conditions; experiences of workplace violence, including perpetrator identity, violence type, frequency, and institutional response; and psychosocial characteristics, including personality traits, life satisfaction, religiosity, and political orientations.
