Péter PongráczDescription
In this experiment, various dog breeds from the independent or cooperative type were tested in a spatial task. Dogs had to negotiate a straight, transparent barrier either by detouring it around, or by using a shortcut across. The shortcut was a door, adjusted in its size to the dog's height. We used either a comfortably large, or an inconveniently small door. Half of the dog participants could also observe as a human demonstrator showed how to detour the obstacle. The Excel file contains the dogs' basic data as well as the behavioral variables we used for the statistical analysis.

Data were obtained by coding the video footages which we took during the behavior tests. We used the BORIS software for coding.
