The Senijeh loess section (31°40′48″N, 48°59′24″E; ~26 m above sea level) is located within the Zagros foreland basin along the western piedmont of the Zagros Mountains. Situated approximately 20–25 km northeast of Mollasani (Bavi County), the section lies at the transitional zone between the Karun River alluvial plain and the western flank of the Zagros Mountains , representing a key geomorphological boundary between the low-lying Khuzestan Plain (eastern Mesopotamia) and the Zagros piedmont zone. The main datasets currently obtained from the Senijeh section include magnetic susceptibility, grain-size distributions, color reflectance, and major-element geochemistry.
