Asian Publicly Listed Companies with Green Bonds
Description
This dataset contains 72 publicly listed Asian firms for fiscal year 2025, comprising 24 certified green bond issuers and 48 matched conventional bond issuers. The study examines whether certified green bond issuance is associated with improved corporate environmental performance. Environmental performance is measured using LSEG ESG Environmental Scores (2025 ratings), while financial and firm-level data were collected from 2025 annual reports. The dataset includes the green bond indicator, environmental score, financial variables, firm characteristics, and country & sector information. The GreenBond variable identifies treatment status (1 = green bond issuer; 0 = conventional issuer), while EnvScore represents environmental performance. The data can be used for comparative and regression-based analysis of green bond issuance and environmental performance, with the financial and firm-level variables serving as controls. Differences in descriptive statistics should not be interpreted as causal effects without appropriate statistical analysis.
