This dataset accompanies the article "From rivers to deep-marine systems: coastal sourcing, redistribution and provenance partitioning along an active continental margin, northern Colombia" submitted to Marine Geology. It contains grain-size distributions (laser diffraction), bulk and clay mineral compositions (XRD), and detrital zircon U-Pb ages (LA-ICP-MS) from ten coastal sediment samples (C01–C10) collected along ~300 km of the Colombian Caribbean coast, spanning the Magdalena River delta to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (SNSM). Analytical parameters, reference material results, and external endmember metadata used for statistical provenance comparisons are also included.
