Major and Trace Element Dataset of Ultramafic Minerals from the Ab-Bid Complex (Iran): Orthopyroxenite and Host Peridotite Compositions
Description
This dataset presents major and trace element geochemical data for ultramafic minerals from the Ab-Bid complex, located in the Esfandagheh–Hadji Abad ophiolitic mélange, southern Iran. The samples include orthopyroxenite dykes and their host peridotites (harzburgite and lherzolite). Major element compositions were obtained by electron microprobe analyses (EPMA) for orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, olivine, and spinel. Trace element data for orthopyroxene and clinopyroxene were acquired using LA-ICP-MS. The dataset supports the interpretation of multistage open-system melting, melt-peridotite interaction, and suprasubduction zone metasomatism. It provides a valuable reference for mantle petrologists, geochemists, and researchers studying subduction-modified ophiolitic complexes.
