Description

This dataset contains the Code_Aster command files, mesh files, and Python post-processing scripts used for the numerical validation presented in the manuscript "Operator-Splitting Implementation of Weighted Elasticity in Legacy Finite Element Solvers" (submitted to Finite Elements in Analysis and Design, Elsevier, 2026). The dataset supports the three-dimensional fracture mechanics benchmark described in Section 6 of the manuscript: a cracked cylindrical pipe subjected to internal pressure, modeled using the Code_Aster finite element platform (Salome-Meca 2021). The operator-splitting strategy decomposes the weighted elasticity operator into a standard elasticity operator and a corrective force term, leading to a fixed-point iterative scheme implementable without any intrusive modification of the solver core. The weighted energy indicator Ψ introduced in Section 5 is used to monitor convergence of the crack-tip fields across iterations. Files included: main Code_Aster command file (xpowfem_pipe.comm), export file (xpowfem_pipe.export), Python automation script (xpowfem_pipe_run.py), weighted energy post-processing script (xpowfem_ring_energy.py), 3D mesh in MED format (cracked_pipe_xpowfem_final.med), and Salome mesh generation script (salome_mesh_xpowfem_final.py).
