Societal repercussions of widespread AI use

Ever since international entities such as World Economic Forum declared digital transformation a path towards a better future, an increasing proportion of companies worldwide have made digital transformation one of their main strategic goals. However, achieving this goal is not straightforward. Incomplete information and lack of knowledge about digital transformation may lead to resistance among employees, mainly due to fear of losing their jobs. Although this may occur in some cases, the positive aspect of AI is its potential to create new jobs. Managers should be involved in every phase of planning AI implementation: assessing jobs to determine whether to automate or augment, co-creating new roles, educating employees about AI, analyzing energy requirements to support digital transformation, and clarifying ethical guidelines for its use.

Steps to reproduce
